We loved Outdoor Explorers his week and had a very busy afternoon of spring bulb planting. We can’t wait to see all our flowers pop up through spring and summer next year. 🌱

We’ve been learning about nocturnal animals in our Science lessons & today we had the Owl Babies story. We had a Design Technology challenge where we had to make an owl with flapping wings. This is part of early mechanisms learning. We used split pins to create a moving part. 🦉

Today we had our first library session in our new infant library. We loved choosing a book and then enjoyed a story before home time. A perfect way to finish a busy busy week. 📚

EYFS were excited to find ice in our outdoor area this week! We were fascinated to discover it was see through, feel how cold it was, watch it melt, smash & change back into water when we poured hot water on it. We explored lots of new vocab such as chilly, melt & transparent. 🥶

The Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh (1889). We really enjoyed studying this painting today, discussing colour, texture and the subject. We recreated our own amazing starry night transient artwork too. You'll have to wait and see! 👀

🎄We had lots of fun at our Christmas lunch celebrations today. 🎄

Today was our EYFS Christmas party. We had so much fun dancing, playing party games, eating our party treats and look who came to see us too!🎅🏽

We love Reading Buddies each Thursday. The Year 5 children are so kind and love reading to us and helping us understand stories. 😃📚

We went out to visit our EYFS class tree in the winter and predicted what it would be like now it’s winter. The branches were bare!

We loved taking part in the Big Garden Birdwatch in Outdoor Explorers this week. We spotted crows, magpies, wagtails, starlings, doves, pigeons, blackbirds, seagulls & oystercatchers. Enjoy your bird watching homework challenge this weekend if all the birds haven’t blown away!🦅

We are working so hard in phonics. We’ve learnt the trigraph igh today and look at our beautiful ✍️writing.🤩

In Outdoor Explorers we had lots of fun making our bird feeders. We were excited to see 6 goldfinches today and we are hoping our feeders will attract lots more birds to Clifton!

What a half term! We crammed so much in and had lots of fun. Have a lovely break. I've set the next round of Bug Club games and a brilliant story that we've enjoyed together called Sid and Zak. Have a wonderful week. 😊

We enjoyed our amazing storyteller Dawn from Lancashire School Library Service Lancs School Library Service &showing off our super ‘Dress a Potato as a character’ creations.
