We’ve secured the funds to move 507001, but what exactly is involved in moving rail vehicles by road? Back in 2012 our friends Class 502 Preservation Trust had to move their historic LMS unit from Tebay to Burscough, and the event was captured on video. youtu.be/c5NECY0uLP4

As usual, the Class 502 Preservation Trust will have their stand at Rainhill M.R.C’s 2026 show this weekend (7-8 March). We will have our usual range of souvenirs on sale, and some of our volunteers will be on hand to talk about the latest progress on the unit’s restoration.
