There’s not long left for the 507s on Merseyrail - with the Wirral Line fully 777 operated today there were just the 3 pairs (015/029, 016/028 & 023/033) on the Southport-Hunts X line to photograph, and a quick look at celebrity 507001 which was visible in the sidings at SOP

Once upon a time there was no shed, almost no spares, very few Minions and just a few vague ambitions. 11 years later, look how far we’ve come.

We couldn’t have done this without your help.

Whilst on my trip to Liverpool I was very privileged to have been onboard the legendary Class 507001 which has proudly served the Liverpool City Region for 46 years. It has been painted its original livery and will be saved from scrap and preserved once taken out of service.

Heading to the #GrandNational today? The class 507s are out in force on the Ormskirk line doing what they were built for and moving the masses.

The trick is being able to translate affection into action. We now have 75 people signed up to preserve 507001!

Another successful day in Shropshire today, dodging the showers and laying track. Though the site gateway felt a bit more like a canal at one point!

This was a glorious day for the supporters of 423417_GordonPettitt.
