It's fair to say that this has been rather a spectacular week! I was ringing in some long grass this morning and this Wryneck turned up! The backing cast was great with 8 Grasshopper Warblers, 5 Whinchat, 2 Stonechat and 53 Sedge Warblers.

Well over 100 people at the in person consultation Hall Green Library this afternoon. Thank you SaveHallgreenLibrary for your work in publicising this. I got to talk to alot of library users & the librarians themselves. It’s clear 2 days a week is a poor offering for Hall Green residents.

The odd Tree Pipit, a decent count of 12 Whinchats, 4 Pied Flycatcher, a Wryneck, 3 Yellow Wagtails, and a nice arrival of Chiffchaff, Willow warbler and Blackcap the best birding from today. Also, an impressive ~1100 Red admiral butterflies went SW after arriving from the East!!
