Hot off the press! Our beautiful collaboration with Hachem’s lab Yaser Hashem, Puglisi’s lab Puglisi Labs and Zagrovic’ group. N6-methyladenosine in 5′ UTR does not promote translation initiation sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Happy too see this peer reviewed! A project stemming from work with @stephenfloor and Debby Silver, we focus on mRNAs who seem upregulated while translation is down or unchanged. If you're into RBPs, mRNA stability, the almighty GC content and much more, this one's for you!

Well, it's official. My wife I are both joining the faculty at the University of Colorado CU Anschutz Medical Campus this summer! I will join the Dept of Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics & she will be joining the Div of Cardiology CU Cardiology and the Cancer Center CU Cancer Center

Exciting day! Welcome Yasuhiro Arimura!

The bulk of my grad work is finally out in the world! Big thanks to everyone in Sue Biggins lab and collaborators including HHMI | Janelia, @WijeratneS, Yasuhiro Arimura, Hironori Funabiki, and others not on this site. Wouldn't have been possible without great collaborators!

Exciting news from Nature Communications: bacterial mRNAs are scanned for RNA-guided regulation. Hfq binds mRNA using one surface and compacts it using another. This way Hfq transfers an sRNA between different target sites within a single mRNA! go.nature.com/43aAGfK
