I'm incredibly excited to announce that I will be interning at KCUR, NPR's Kansas City affiliate station, this summer! I'm beyond excited for the opportunity to contribute to their impactful storytelling and learn from the talented team at KCUR.

Journalists across the country are often subpoenaed - often in spite of state law designed to protect journalists from that very thing. The thread below, by me with the help of Stephanie Sugars and Ahmed Zidan, highlights U.S. Press Freedom Tracker's work tracking subpoenas from 2017-now.

No comment on NPR 's bias or lack of bias, but will say that public funding to NPR does more than just produce quality journalism. It employs hundreds of reporters and writers with loads of talent who cover hurricanes, tornados, local elections, etc for their local communities

The school that administers the Pulitzer Prizes will not be allowing press on campus 🥴

You may well have the unusual situation of the Columbia student radio station being eligible for a Pulitzer Prize, administered by Columbia University, for the station’s coverage of how Columbia called the cops on Columbia students. (They’re doing an extraordinary job).

ccny campus magazine livestream is genuinely incredible, they’re reading out police badge numbers + names and getting people in the chat to search complaints filed against them, then reading the complaints back out loud to the cops 😭

Shortly before 3:30 a.m., four Daily Bruin reporters were walking on campus when they were followed and then assaulted.
