Will the Fed cut rates before an election?

Of course they would…if they need to.

And they have.

See rate cuts in 2008, 1992, 1984, 1980, 1976

MARCH CPI

Core CPI +.36% MOM

The big driver of the hotter-than-expected number is - once again - motor vehicle insurance.

Car insurance + shelter = 70% of Core Service inflation.

Goods deflation returned -.04% MOM.

BTW, small caps have LOVED jobs day as of late.

The Russell 2000 (small cap index) has outperformed the Dow/S&P/Nasdaq 100 in 8 out of the last 12 jobs days

Small caps flourish in a strong economy with contained inflation & lower rates.

300K jobs added to the economy.

Unemployment is low.

Wages are growing at a 4% clip (higher than inflation).

Americans are making money, and inflation is under control.

Happy jobs Friday.

This is wild.

Our daily lives are more rate-sensitive than ever.

Our actual debts aren't.

I am shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, to find out that the people winning the volume-based social media game might not in fact be producing the best quality of investment advice.

Since 1950, the S&P 500 has dropped 5% or more about once every 10 months.

Most of these happened while the economy grew and profits rose.

Selloffs happen, even in healthy markets.
