Such a shame see this young Red Deer stag with β€˜horse cart brand jasmine fragrant rice’ 25kg bag stuck to his antlers. Where the heck did he pick this up in the Coigach peninsula in the West Highlands of Scotland?

The mighty fin whale πŸ‹ The second largest, and the fastest whale on the planet. I’ve had this shot in my head for 3 years, with the dolphins bow riding in front, so getting this on Wednesday was incredible. Even more so, it was filmed here in the Celtic Sea. DJI

At the tender age of 61 I saw my first Common Blue and Dark Green Fritillary yesterday! They have always been there but as a birder most of my life I simply never saw them! Life is going to get a lot more interesting as moths, butterflies, insects and flora are now on my radar πŸ₯°

Breeding them over a million confined in tanks in constant light which they hate both confinement and light is cruel beyond words And then they will freeze them to death Octopus are most unique creatures on Earth This is barbarism and with EU approval

These have arrived! - the finished, hardback copies of a little book I've written about the joyfully unpredictable experience of producing Father Ted. Publication is Feb 20th but I'd like to give away two copies early - RT by Saturday 6pm and my dog Watson will pick the winners.

Fantastic day with Bob McMillan in Glen Carron on Sunday. Being relatively new to butterflies this was my first Green Hairstreak and what a beautiful little butterfly. Also good numbers of Four-spotted Chasers, Green-Veined Whites and Orange Tip butterflies.

Great day with Bob McMillan and Seth Gibson at Talisker Bay, Isle of Skye, and thank goodness for walking poles on steep and rocky terrain. Both Transparent and Talisker Burnet moths were found early on as well of a bonus of Dew Moths and Graylings butterflies.
