Thinking of the Queen's long reign, my grandparents would have seen the pictures of the Queen with Nixon, Ford and Reagan. My mom's own grandfather passed in 1952 or 1953 just as the Queen assumed her throne. The Queen would have been 18 when my father's dad was killed in WWII.

My favorite Earl Weaver story: Ross Grimsley is getting rocked one night, so Earl makes a mound visit and just says “If you know how to cheat, start now.”

It's a sad week in aviation history - the last 747 is set to roll off the assembly line. Arguably the most impactful commercial plane ever built, democratizing global travel for the middle class. Before the 747 international air travel was a privilege only for the wealthy.
