HT196 is currently operating at a 3rd alarm structure fire on Hartford Pike (Rte 101) in E. Killingly. The HT is filling tankers on from a pond on Bear Hill Road, east of the scene. This will be a long-term operation. Use caution when driving in the area.

At 0219hrs this morning HT196 was requested to fill tankers at the So. Killingly Fire Station, for a structure fire on Cook Hill Road. The HT and crew were released at 0430hrs.

This weeks Townwide training focused on tanker shuttle operations. HT196 set up at draft and filled tankers through a manifold.

Last evening Brookwood Laminating hosted our officers for a tour for the PV system on the roof of their factory. Being familiar with an important system like this will save time in the event of an emergency involving the system or the associated equipment.

Chief Duval spent the evening at the FDNY Foundation Dinner at the FDNY Academy.

Last evening's training was our annual live fire evolutions held at the ECFS.

Our crew had a great time at the Shepard Hill Elementary School Trunk or Treat event this evening. The costumes were great and tons of candy was given out. Just don't tell your dentist. 😉

Tonight's training centered on MV Extrication in low light conditions.

Santa Claus is coming to town…

At 1948 hrs this evening Atwood Hose Fire Co. was dispatched as part of a 1st alarm structure fire response for a dwelling fire on Valley Rd in the Dayville section of Killingly. Atwood teamed with East Putnam Fire to make up the FAST team. Our crew was released after about 90 mins.

Our 2025 Santa Run is complete. Time for the big man to head back to the North Pole to finish his preparations for the big day later this week.

A couple of new recruits.

It has been a busy few days. We have been dispatched to two structure fires since Friday in Moosup and Killingly. We provided water supply at both fires with HT196. And assisted with suppression and overhaul with ET196.

Two car MVA with entrapment this morning at 0739hrs. One patient transported with minor injuries. The other refused treatment at the scene. The airbags and supplemental restraints in both vehicles saved the operators from further injuries.
