I scored 10/10 in "Are you grammatically gormless or a punctuation perfectionist?" riddle.com/view/300115?re… Should I have failed in this task, I would have had to kill myself!

1/3 One of the proudest days of my career: hearing superlatively talented organ scholar, George Herbert, conduct St John's College Choir Advent broadcast (2 days after my +ve Covid test.) Choristers sang SO well, with just 10 out of 16 well enough to sing. Gents simply outstanding as usual.

Making music in your favourite place; a powerful combination of music and verse; young singers unlocking their boundless vocal enthusiasm for the piece; fabulously communicative organ playing ……I could go on! Feeling blessed indeed. King’s Chapel Choir. Blest Pair of Sirens.

Back to King’s on Saturday to hear Blest Pair of Sirens – David Lowe conducting, Daniel Hyde playing, and King's College Choir on top form. I could listen to it every day of the week. Stunning.

A great final Evensong of term. Very sad to say farewell to so many fantastic singers. Nice photos with choir members afterwards (though I wish we’d taken them earlier when everyone was present). Such a privilege to make music with these wonderful people. Thank you all. St John's College Choir

Looking forward to working with a great team to widen and deepen access to the UK's extraordinary living tradition of choral and organ music.

Richard Hickox should have been 75 today. Still missed - not just for his fine conducting, and his commitment to neglected music (particularly British); but also for his goodness, his affectionate nature and total lack of malice. A truly lovely man, who left us far too soon...
