‘As the feminist author Germaine Greer once put it: “Female is real and it’s sex, and femininity is unreal and it’s gender”.’ Gendered appearance is a bad metric for access to single-sex spaces, writes Victoria Smith👇 buff.ly/ARUaEAx

I’ve looked but I can’t find any evidence that swallowing broken glass is an effective treatment for depression in children. We clearly need more evidence, starting with a clinical trial.

Details of puberty blocker trial now announced. As I wrote in April, I don't understand how it's ethical when Cass herself says no way to know which gender-questioning children go onto develop a lasting trans identity, and for whom it naturally resolves. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

The puberty blockers trial feels like an extreme example of the sunk costs fallacy. Can't just admit too many children have been harmed already. We have to harm some more to maintain the illusion that it wasn't that bad, or if it was, no one could have known.

Just as we argue that ALL men should be kept out of female only spaces because of the risk a significant minority pose, they should also be banned from working in nurseries. My piece for The Telegraph telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/12/0…

The banning of books is never acceptable. But I wonder how many of these supposedly “banned” books have simply been withdrawn from schools due to overly sexualised content? Has there been any meticulous and objective research on this?
