Day 15 of a new government There were nine self-inflicted deaths of people serving IPP in 2023. This is the highest number of self-inflicted deaths in a single year since IPP was introduced. Shabana Mahmood MP James Timpson #ippreform
This is a good introduction to the batshit craziness of life in 2024. My favourite part of this is the University of Boreham Wood banning Mitch Benn from a ceremony he didn’t know he’d been invited to. Looking forward to the Netflix sitcom.
Day 21 of a new government Art that was shared with us by someone who is trapped in prison on IPP. Keir Starmer Shabana Mahmood MP James Timpson #ippreform
It is to be welcomed that Shabana Mahmood MP has announced a review into how the prisons crisis came about . It would be good to know who is carrying it out, what the terms of reference are and what the time lines are. Decades of secrecy around HMPPS are part of the problem.
Thank you Jenny Jones for raising IPP in The Lords today. Shabana Mahmood MP James Timpson many are awaiting the implementation of the licence amendments. Please act swiftly on this before they lose the hope that has been offered with these changes.
Must watch on House of Commons reform Ellie Chowns Dr Ellie Chowns, "As a newly elected member, I'd like to offer observations on three elements on how this house operates: sitting, speaking and voting" ➡️ Sitting - Chamber is too small - In Council and in European parliament
