Bronte Class enjoyed role play today - they explored different viewpoints leading up to writing a balanced argument to discuss the Victorian Workhouses. It was great seeing their ideas developing.

Detective skills needed whilst examining historical artefacts in our History lesson today. We tried to identify the characteristics, function and probable value of a range of Victorian objects. Super work from Bronte class once more!

Class 1 have been learning all about Remembrance this morning. We have explored why red and purple poppies are used and the children then asked if they could draw some pictures to remember which was lovely 😊 #RemembranceDay2023

Bronte Class used found natural objects to create textures and patterns in art today. It was fun just to explore and experiment with the flowers heads, grasses and autumn leaves from our lovely grounds.

UKS2 had a visit from a Leeds United coach today who delivered an assembly from Network Rail. We learnt lots about the dangers posed by the railway and had the chance to ask lots of questions about Leeds United too. @LUF Network Rail

Bronte class got stuck in to a rugby session on the field today. Lots of glowing faces and muddy knees- perfect for an autumn afternoon.

Festive fun at the UKS2 Victorian Christmas Fair this afternoon. Our children showcased their amazing talents and were confident to share their knowledge about the Victorian Christmas. It was brilliant!

Class 1 are learning about the Great Fire of London 🔥 Today we gathered facts about Samuel Pepys and then drew pictures of him. We found out lots of interesting information!

Class 1 have taken part in a Fire of London workshop this morning! We learnt how to make walls like they did in London during this time. We made our miniature walls by using sticks, wattle and daub (which in the olden days included manure)! We were very lucky with the weather ☀
