The conversation about the place of a good friend when a loved one is being abused by a partner is ravaging. There are many contradictory, ugly realities and all of them are true. I am thinking about Elianne Andam, who was just 15 when her friend's ex killed her with a machete.

Danie ❤️ you And so the one iota of hope I am holding onto is the origin story of the Gulabi Gang. What 1 woman could not do, 5 managed. We can do infinitely more together, and this includes sharing the very risk involved in fighting the very real monsters in our midst.

And so maybe the question we should be answering is not who is right and who is wrong. Maybe the question is how we go from being one to being two, being 3, being 4, and being 5. How we become hydra. How we become legion. /Zagadat

The worst part of seeing a video of a man being burned alive in a hospital bed is that half of the comments on the video will be people saying “well he should have told Hamas to surrender,” as if civilians & kids have any power. May god have mercy on us for failing humanity.

Please do everything you can to stop this. We Israelis whom oppose Netanyahu’s regime cannot stop this from within. There is no formal opposition. Help. Please share.

Interested in learning about middle-class alienation? Why "good jobs" feel like "bad jobs"? How have transnational corporations shaped the high-skilled, elite labor markets, middle classes, and quality of (working) life in Turkey and beyond? Check White-Collar Blues out!
