As the flag is lowered to half mast over Windsor Castle an incredible rainbow appears over the castle, for a few minutes and then just like that it was gone….

The United Kingdom, the Commonwealth, and the entire world are joined together in mourning this evening. HM Queen Elizabeth II served this country to the last. I offer my sincere condolences to the Royal Family. May she rest in peace.

NEW: Photograph of King Charles III just released by Buckingham Palace. It shows him working through his official red boxes of government and palace papers. Taken in the Eighteenth Century Room at Buckingham Palace last week. Some of the papers have been signed ‘Charles R’.

Some photos released today of the Paddington toys who were left in tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth. They are being donated to Barnardo’s next week by the Queen Consort. But clearly doing a bit of sightseeing around Buckingham Palace and Clarence House before they leave!
