It's great to have union presidents from across the labor movement noted in Washingtonian 🌸's list of DC's 500 Most Notable. What would be even better would be for Merrill Williams to get to the bargaining table & negotiate a fair contract with Washingtonian Guild. Then we can celebrate.

It's true. As one indicator, MIT's Local Living Wage calculator pegs a DMV livable wage for 1 adult with no child at $56,165 before taxes. DMV livable wage is actually a notch below what Washingtonian Guild's floor wage request of $55k! livingwage.mit.edu/metros/47900
