Kirsty Longley has won the Mersey Tunnel 10k, 1st female finisher in 37:51. With vet SPRINTER Steven Nijs finishing 2nd in the M50 cat (38:15) and Mark Hudson finishing 2nd in the M60 cat (43:37). Joanna Durkin having a decent race with a 5th in the F40 race with a time of 45:27

Our super Para athlete Amy Thompson Peter Thompson has been throwing well at a meeting in Coventry, Ross Harrison won the 10000 northerns at Warrington and u13 Matthew Bennett has finished 2nd at wavertree open today in the 1200 with a big PB of 3:53.

Last weekend saw Kirsty Longley represent England at the Birmingham 10k. She finished a super 36:22 and the 1st lady home in an England vest. Another great performance from Kirsty who’s on her way back from injury.

*Congratulations* to Chris Melling who has today been selected to run for the England Masters team in the 2025 international representative Half Marathon. Really well deserved after a number of years hard work. Well done Chris, we’re delighted for you.

Dreadfully sad news this week as we learned of the passing of Trisha Farrell. Alongside Ray Twentyman, Trish was the bedrock behind some of our very best athletes. A friend to everyone, she will be sorely missed.

In the Halewood junior mile last week LP&S took 1st and 2nd place as our incredible youngsters Ivor Holdroyd and Matthew Bennett finished 1st and 2nd. Quite a performance from both with Ivor taking 1st (aged 10) and Matthew just behind in an 8 second PB. The future is bright.
