Super excited to be at the #AspenIdeas Festival with @Comcast, connecting with and taking in sessions with some of the greatest thinkers and changemakers of our time. Especially excited to see Dalila Wilson Scott + Broderick Johnson on mainstage panels during the week. #ProjectUP

I'm preparing for my presentation on the role of public health. I'm looking forward to sharing my favorite quote by FDR. He created NIH in the midst of the great depression. Then he had the nerve to say "Nothing can be more important to a government than its public's health;

One of my favorite quotes: “Your power is relative, but it is real. And if you do not learn to use it, it will be used, against you, and me, and our children..." -Audre Lorde

VICTORY! 6-3 SCOTUS Moore v Harper: Elections Clause does NOT vest exclusive authority in state legislatures. 10 years without the full protections of the Voting Rights Act we understand the fight ahead may not be easy, but ultimately we will win. supremecourt.gov/opinions/22pdf…

Today's decisions from the Supreme Court on Affirmative Action represent a significant setback for Civil Rights in the U.S. and are a cornerstone of the conservative movement's coordinated effort to roll back access to opportunity for systemically marginalized Americans.

This is a terrible day for our nation and its laws. The 14th Amendment–put in place in the aftermath of slavery–has been abused by the majority of this Court.

The Court overturned affirmative action just a few days from July 4th, when the nation will be remembering the Declaration of Independence. Their decision graphically reveals that this Court, and many in our nation, are not independent or free from the lies about the past.

We cannot afford to interpret this moment as a difference of opinion. We are in a battle for civilization itself. The language of left v. right is too puny for the moral crisis we are in. We need strong, bold, and expansive legislation now theologyandpolicy.yale.edu/newdeclaration
