“Every single part of the city contributes to some other part of the city. I want to make sure that people understand that we're all connected.” I spoke to Ciara Long Bisnow about affordability and the dire need for more housing in all of Brooklyn. bisnow.com/new-york/news/…

Bike Tarrytown Philly has amazingly narrow streets. It’s the only city I’ve been to that has streets that are 28 ft ROW in Downtown. If they could get an infusion of cash they could easily become the most walkable city while maintaining affordability.

This might sound surprising, but it's very much in line with other research by Andy Guess Yamil Ricardo Velez myself Josh Kalla & others: whether it's Fox News viewers watching CNN or Dems hearing Republican arguments, people seem willing to be persuaded by sources they intensely dislike.

It's absolutely insane how much public space in *Lower Manhattan* is dedicated to cars. Tens of thousands of pedestrians fighting over scraps so cars can gather dust. A much better city is possible.

It was disappointing to hear our city planner (whose approach we overall like) say "you can't build your way out of the housing crisis" when you can in fact build enough units to meet the demand and stabilize prices.

Kinda crazy that only half of the proposed Newark train station ever got built. Remember how the original plans also included raised platforms, an island serving multiple tracks, and a pedestrian bridge? Would be cool if someone provided an update on this project.

Giant advertisement that blocks visibility of kids walking to Tarrytown Schools. We contacted #SleepyHollowNY Building Dept. They got Mobil / Chestnut Market to move it. #IfYouSeeSomethingSaySomething

I don't know how NYCT Subway has managed to so badly screw up OMNY Out of the blue, I get an email saying a charge was declined. All charges match between my phone and card statement I go to OMNY website for details, it doesn't tell me anything I retry charge, "Error unknown"

Also crazy about this is how the MTA Board holds exactly one (1) oversight session on OMNY each year. They should be doing them monthly at this point to figure out what went wrong, how to fix it promptly, how to avoid something like this in the future and who should be fired.

Jurisdictions that own & fund their bike-share systems ensure much lower costs for riders, but they also have to struggle to get funding for expansion. In NYC, Lyft w/ Citi Bank's sponsorship has just done it. No Council involvement or approval necessary. x.com/dahvnyc/status…

I remember 10 years ago projects half the size of these wouldve taken years of fierce battle, hours of public comment. Post the pro housing revolution of the late 2010s, Berkeley unanimously approves high rise housing now and nobody even goes to meetings. berkeleyside.org/2024/09/13/hub…
