Polaroid founder Edwin Land announced the SX-70 at a company annual meeting on this day in April 1972. On stage, he took out a folded SX-70 from his suit coat pocket and in ten seconds took five pictures, both actions impossible with previous Land Cameras. .

Our next workshop is coming up ... Toning - a day exploring different ways of toning your darkroom prints. Including using Halochrome, a toning technique that gives your prints a metallic mirror silver finish (judging the second pic - quite hard to photography successfully 📷 )

Muybridge's work was commissioned by Leland Stanford, the industrialist, former Governor of California, and horseman, who was interested in horse gait analysis. Legend has it that Stanford had a wager to prove all four feet of a horse left the ground when it ran.
