Former Mt. Pleasant PT officer John Brown waives his preliminary hearing on additional charges across multiple dockets filed in March including aggravated indecent assault and IDSI.

His trial on the initial charges including attempted rape is still scheduled for December.

Brown’s lawyer says she doesn’t expect that trial to happen until at least January.

Students at Southmoreland High School (SHSWalkout), with their mouths covered with masking tape and a message, spent 17 minutes in silence during #NationalWalkoutDay.

Students then pulled the tape from their mouths and added it to a banner that said ‘Walkout For a Reason.’ The walkout was approved by administration. #NationalWalkOutDay

Brad Geyer, 35, a former Connellsville councilman and a current legislative aide to a state senator, was charged Thursday for having inappropriate contact with a teenage girl several times during an about two-year period, according to court papers.

Police identified the dead in a shooting last evening in Connellsville as Darren Kyle Ruvo, 36, and Nicole Lynn Kinneer, 37, both of Connellsville. Police said they hope to speak to a third person involved, George Rohal, 65, at a Pittsburgh hospital.
