Repeated phrases I heard last night on town centre foot patrol hadn't changed since lockdown: "I ain't done nuffin" "Leave him alone, I love him!" "I ain't drunk." "Can I wear your hat?" "Thank you for all you do" With one exceotion: "Can you help me with my Covid pass?"

Great work that meant a number of Surrey Police teams dropping what they were doing & working together. It won't appear in any crime statistics but is part of our job to keep #Surrey safe.

Yesterday I called half a dozen Surrey Police officers who had been assaulted at two separate incidents & an officer who had been deliberately knocked off his police motorbike. All of them wanted to get straight back to work. Fabulous commitment.

It was a huge privilege to meet the Queen at Windsor Castle in 2017. I was the last to receive an award & by that time Her Majesty had been standing and presenting for an hour. She was nevertheless utterly delightful and chatty.

UPDATE 10.15am - The protester on the gantry between junctions 9-10 has now been taken down and arrested for public nuisance. This is the third separate protest on the M25 we have dealt with this morning.

We thank everyone for their patience whilst road closures were in place this morning. Keeping traffic moving is key however we had to close the road for a short period to allow for our protester removal team to get up safely to remove the protesters. All roads are now open.

Officers are on scene and dealing with protesters who have climbed on to motorway gantries between J8-9 and J12-13 along the M25 this morning. Traffic is currently stopped in both directions at these junctions. Thanks for your patience, we’ll update as soon as possible.

Officers are also on scene between J7-8 where a further protester has climbed on the motorway gantry.

We continue to investigate a serious, racially aggravated assault outside a school in #Ashford We’ve arrested 5 people on suspicion of attempted racially aggravated GBH. 2 of these were also arrested on suspicion of child neglect & encouraging an offence to be committed.
