Cross-kingdom RNA interference? No evidence for it in the early stages of Botrytis cinerea–tomato interaction. Let the debate start! 🤼bsppjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…

Precisely the sort of study that needs to be done with cross kingdom silencing. It will be interesting to resolve the differing findings with Dicer mutants between this paper and Weiberg A, et al Science 342 118–23

I hope you enjoy reflections on my life in science - so far annualreviews.org/doi/abs/10.114… Its not too long but, a bit like me, it does go on a bit at the end!

Very enjoyable and stimulating visit to @INRAE_Tlsein the frame of the TULIP. See we.tl/t-cexIa6IB3g if you might be interested to join the course on "functional biology and ecology"!

A short (up to one year) postdoc in my group to investigate paramutation in tomato. Knowledge of epigenetics and experience with VIGS and virus-based expression technology would be very useful. jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/38984/ Please circulate to possible candidates.

I’m proud to be one of 1,176 letter co-signatories calling on MPs to back the #CANBill in this week’s private members’ bill ballot. The time for science-led legislation to tackle the climate-nature crisis is now. zerohour.uk/scientist_lett…

I was greatly saddened to hear about the recent death of Joe Key from the University of Georgia. He was my postdoctoral supervisor, inspiration and a good friend. Not many people have changed plant science to the extent that he has. plantbio.uga.edu/news/stories/2…

This presentation is a tribute to Joe Key for his vision and leadership at the frontier of plant molecular biology, both scientifically and for community building. We are grateful for his vision and mourn his passing on Aug. 19, 2024. Gloria Coruzzi, NYU coruzzilab.bio.nyu.edu/wp-content/upl…

Reports are greatly exaggerated! I will not be retired on the 1st October - I will be staying on in Cambridge for a while longer and becoming Biological Secretary of the Royal Society in London.
