Our mountain chapters were hit hard by Hurricane Helene. Recovery will be long and difficult, but chapters also report some parks and preserves are already reopening. Work days are scheduled for others. Learn more about how you can help here: nc.audubon.org/news/post-hele…

The Pisgah Ranger District will reopen Friday! People should be extra cautious due to hazards like landslides and washed-out roads/trails, and several roads and bathrooms will remain closed. But exciting progress! Appalachian and Grandfather districts still closed for now.

Great job, Cumberland County! You can do your part by turning off your nonessential lighting from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Nov. 30, which will help keep migrating birds from getting disoriented and flying into buildings. #lightsoutforbirds

I'm proud to sponsor SB317 with Sen. Lowe and Sen. Settle. Providing additional due process for heir property across North Carolina will help preserve family farms and strengthen private property rights. #ncpol

The Audubon flock is in Raleigh for Advocacy Day! We’re speaking up for important bird-friendly policies that would re-enforce emissions goals, increase funds for conservation as well as protections for wetlands and family farms. #ncga #speak4birds
