BREAKING: Kentucky House committee just passed a bill banning taxpayer-funded advocacy on ballot measures. The vote was 16 to 1. It already passed the Senate 28 to 9. Anyone violating this law would be guilty of a misdemeanor.

I have received and signed House Bill 1, enacted over the Governor's veto. Unlike him, I welcome the chance to help Kentucky students get a better education through the federal American Opportunity Tax Credit program.

Thank you to the Kentucky lawmakers who voted to override the Governor and opt the state in to the Education Freedom Tax Credit! Opting in to the tax credit will give families in the Blue Grass State more flexibility in choosing an education that best serves their students!
