In case you missed Nico Franzmeier's and my talk at the @ADPD2022 you can find it online at adpd.kenes.com/virtual-login/
Giving back is important! As an alumnus of the Universität Bremen Neuroscience Master Program, I decided to take an action and connect the alumni to the new students, who had a hard time seeing their next steps due to a lack of practical training during the COVID19 pandemic 1/n
Very happy to share our new work out in Brain, studying the contribution of #Alzheimer's and #SmallVesselDisease on white-matter diffusion changes using fixel-based analysis. Great work by PhD student Anna Dewenter co-led with Marco Duering! doi.org/10.1093/brain/…
On the way to San Diego for #AAIC2022! Looking forward to a great week and seeing many of you again in person after almost three years. Also, check out our labs presentations by Anna Dewenter Anna Steward Davina Biel and @roemersebastian
If you are interested in microglial activation and AD progression, check out our talk that is now online at Sven Bemmann! Big thanks to Nico Franzmeier for stepping in today for me in San Diego!
Very happy to share our new Nature Communications paper, showing that earlier #Alzheimer's onset is associated with stronger tau in globally connected hubs, and that tau in hubs leads to faster connectivity-mediated tau spreading and cognitive decline doi.org/10.1038/s41467… 1/5
Check out our new preprint, showing that earliest Abeta abnormalities are associated with a sTREM2-related microglial response, which may drive p-tau elevations. Many thanks to Nico Franzmeier, MatthiasBrendel and Marc Suárez-Calvet 🧠🧪 🩺🌈 and all other co-authors! medrxiv.org/content/10.110…
Many thanks to Alzforum for highlighting our work, summarizing collaborative studies on tau spreading from Alexa Pichet Binette, Oskar Hansson, Davina Biel, Lukas Frontzkowski, Michael Ewers, Anna Rubinski and many others!
Very happy that our paper is now out in Alzheimer’s Research & Therapy where we show that higher levels of #myelin are associated with higher resistance against #tau pathology in #AlzheimersDisease. Many thanks to Michael Ewers Nico Franzmeier BioFINDER and others! alzres.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…
So happy to share this work bridging together CSF p-tau217, longitudinal tau-PET and cognition in Nature Communications 🧠🧪📉 Huge thanks to Nico Franzmeier, RikOssenkoppele and of course Oskar Hansson for the close collaboration on this work and all co-authors! See the thread for more info!
Happy to share our new work where we show that combining tau-PET with fMRI-derived maps of cognitive domains improves the prediction of cognitive decline and the sensitivity to detect treatment effects. Thanks to Nico Franzmeier, MatthiasBrendel and all co-authors! rdcu.be/cZcf9
Very happy to share our new work by Anna Steward, out in Alzheimer's & Dementia Journals showing that higher brain network segregation is associated with attenuated tau spreading in #Alzheimer's. This suggests that more segregated brain networks may provide #resilience against tau spreading
Excited that our new paper is now out in Alzheimer's & Dementia Journals where we show that increased brain network segregation is linked to attenuated tau spreading in Alzheimer's disease. alz-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.10…
What do fluid p-tau biomarkers reflect? Marie R. Vermeiren and I provide evidence that p-tau biomarkers are more closely associated with amyloid plaques than tau tangles, measured with PET. jamanetwork.com/journals/jaman… 1/n
Our new paper shows polygenic risk score comprising 85 lead AD-risk SNPs to be associated with enhanced effect of amyloid on the rate of tau PET accumulation, and cognitive decline. Thanks to lead author Anna Rubinski & Rainer Malik, Simon Frerich Nico Franzmeier tinyurl.com/576vd4um
