Still thinking a lot about Erin Swan's fantastic, literary-scifi epic WALK THE VANISHED EARTH, which I read earlier in the summer. Like STATION ELEVEN but with wildness and dislocation in place of community and continuity. Strange, haunting, beautifully written.

That multiple sports commentators/journalists have been so dismissive of a possible concussion (aka brain injury) is wild. Kudos to Dennis Young for telling the story. (Green also smacked his head hard on the floor, but nobody mentioned a possible concussion then either.)

Now that it’s in my head, I can’t shake it: Stan Van Gundy doing the commentary on Heat - Celtics game sounds almost exactly like Vince Gillgan of Breaking Bad fame.

Me, watching the final episode of Barry and realizing that the new “Max” iPad app leaves up the ‘chrome’ (time, date, wifi strength, battery strength, etc) the whole time.
