Daniel Amokachi wasn’t the first black player to play for Everton—Cliff Marshall (who was a Liverpudlian) had played for Everton in the 1970’s—but he was the first black player that Everton had ever signed (I think Im right in saying.) Everton had a rep for racism in the 1980’s.
