At-home jam session tonight with my two favorite musicians - Lucy Lown on oboe and Harper Lown on “drums”! Outstanding job to my brother Stockton Helbing and HelbingJazzInitiativ for such a wonderful presentation on organ great Jimmy Smith.

This weekend would have marked our 5th appearance at the Essentially Ellington competition in NYC. We are all very sad that we aren’t able to go, but we still take pride in the achievement, and look forward to returning again soon. Here is the moment in Feb when the band got the news.
