Myself and David Lee-Kong have set sail from Poole. But to where?

Fantastic trip this evening with City Cruises Poole to see Arcadia and Allure of the Seas.

...to see the cruise ships off Bournemouth. The nearest anyone gets to going on one for a while and the weather perhaps apt for their current fate.

Yesterday I enjoyed a flight across the Solent at 2ft followed by some breezing across the downs of the Isle of Wight with Southern Vectis.

On Friday it was a quick ride on the Eastleigh Lakeside Railway.

Today was a visit to the excellent Wimborne Model Town followed by a walk around this charming Dorset market town.

This morning’s nautical adventure along the Jurassic Coast with City Cruises Poole.

Fascinating evening on the Dorchester Ghost walk with the knowledgeable and engaging Chris as guide. Highly recommended if you’re in the area.

A fascinating morning at Bournemouth Uni’s Big Dig 22 open day on the outskirts of my village. The Durotriges Project team were great at explaining the site, what they’ve discovered and how it helps to fill the gaps in our knowledge. Well done all!

Today I’ve been following in the footsteps of Jack Hargreaves’s from Out of Town with a visit to Melbury Abbas. Note the round metal plate on the floor, used by a wheelwright for cart and carriage wheels well before the days of KwikFit.

Behind the scenes morebus this evening helping to put printed timetables on the extra buses we will be running from tomorrow. Old school paper and string approach but it should get us started. More stock being printed Andrew Wickham!

Well the Great Dorset Steam F was definitely worth nearly three years of waiting. Four great days of fun, sights, sounds, smells and lots and lots of dust! Bring on the next one!

The ‘I Grew Up in 1980s’ exhibit @DorsetMuseum is well worth a visit, but be warned - you will feel old as a result!
