“It is obvious to me that he has invested passion and energy into his ward, regularly going out litter picking, unblocking drains, and campaigning for more regular bus services.” This week, Bristol 24/7 had breakfast with Green councillor for Cotham Mohamed Makawi!

Pleased to join Trans Pride Bristol's annual Trans Pride march again this year. My friend, Bristol Green Party councillor Jenny Bartle, spoke (in a personal capacity) about how we can learn from what has worked before in LGBT+ history, to keep pushing for equal rights for all.

Ending 2024 with a reminder that the richest 1% emit more emissions than the poorest 2/3 of humanity. Environmental justice is an issue of racial, social & economic justice. Labour are a huge part of the problem. We need to transform the entire system. Join.greenparty.org.uk

Historic motion passed today at Bristols Council - calling for Avon pension fund to divest I was honoured to second the motion and it passed meaning this is a real local change on the ground moved by CllrShona Jemphrey supported by Bristol Green Party - proud moment!

I am surprised that these tired typical Tory tropes are deemed newsworthy. No vision, no strategy. Whine on about tackling air quality and congestion and hope that doing nothing to rebalance our transport system will somehow work out. bristol247.com/news-and-featu…

This was a long time coming! I've been asking the Government probing questions about the supposed independence of #LordWalney's advice since October. He advised government to treat climate protesters as extremists, while having clear financial links to oil and gas companies 🤔

📈 Today rail fares rise by 4.6%. ✈️ Rail trips are on average twice as expensive as domestic flights. 🚆 We could tax air travel fairly, raising billions to invest in our railways and bring down fares, making the green option the easiest and cheapest option.

Thames Water was privatised in 1989 with no debt. Since then it’s racked up £14.7 billion in debt at the same time as paying out £10.4 billion to its shareholders. If that's not a scam, I don't know what is! #OurWaterOurWay
