Since Conan O'Brien is all over socials right now, here’s a clip that explains why - no matter how many people try and tear me down for “peddling hopium” - I continue to see the silver lining. From his farewell speech:

I think this is a very good article. I’m very proud of me. Over 20 years old, but just as relevant today. To say “I told you so,” I did tell you so: “Deterrence works and North Korea will not attack the South.” Please read my awesome article!

Maybe I’ll be wrong, but looking at the results at the halfway point, I think the Democratic Party win will be less resounding than the high-end exit poll estimates were. If things go very well maybe they get to 170 district wins and then a total of 182 with proportional seats

'It is not necessarily the case that China and the US are falling out. There is still room to navigate this. But it takes leadership to see that every assertive action on one side causes a counter-reaction.' Wise words from BASF Joerg Wuttke.

One of the races in Seoul that has been watched closely in the so-called “Han River Belt” of swing districts. Also a battle between former democracy activists of the 1980s. It’s not even close and SBS is saying Dem candidate Jeong Cheong-rae is favored to win.

Thoughts on today’s election in Korea….

1) The Korean people are the big winners. Can switch between left and right, but when a government steps out of line, Koreans can really smack them into place. Really healthy democracy.

2) Is this the end of incel politics?

Map of district results based on exit polls of the three major broadcasters. If these results pan out after votes are counted the PPP and conservatives will have been completely decimated.
