What I had to unlearn from school How to write. Writing for school is very different from writing for work. Use big words in school= A. Use big words in a marketing = C. Keep it simple. You’re not writing for college professors. You’re writing for the general public. /1

That means you need to write like you speak. It’s ok to use I. You. Me. Totally fine to start sentences with ‘and.’ Keep your sentences short. Your paragraphs even shorter. This advice goes against everything I learned (sorry Ms. Dickson!). But trust me, it works. /2
