real & serious reforms in transportation in our cities require focus on electric buses - in bus lane wherever possible and electric bicycles for last mile connectivity and for" our favorite cars" paid and regulated parking

It is time we postpone coastal rd which costs rs. 14000 cr for 10 km and will carry only 2 lakh users /day because metro III will be even now completed before which costs rs. 30,000 cr but will carry 18 lakh usrs/day and it will be clean

there is little debate on new parliament to be completed before 2022 . I find the estimate less than rs. 1000 cr is rather an underestrimate. we are recovering from covid . can we postpone till we reach $ 5 trillion economy Sudheendra Kulkarni Kumar Ketkar

We are considering bullet kind of trains for Mumbai Hyderabad when it is v doubtful whether Ahm bullet will work with min financial viability. they are more costly than planes. to reduce losses , bullet trains must work round the clock

Ashok Datar (@datarashok) 's Twitter Profile Photo

need to open local trains for all carefully. today only half services working, increase to 80%+ in 2 steps: -first women all time , men off peak , after services 80%+ & masks insistence then open for all. require one month but inform steps to publilc & go ahead for all

Govt should provide total area to be used for central vista project in sqm .what is the built up areaa and construction cost per built upbarea. This will clarifybwhether cost estimates are realistic

Ashok Datar (@datarashok) 's Twitter Profile Photo

why semi hi speed train projects btw nashik and pune with 2 hr journey time for 235 km and only Rs. 16000 cr cost ( @Rs. 68 cr/km , iy is much cheaper in investment ,operations and speed.

in ur table in toi today, somit sen, u could add the latest total no. of vehicles on road ( with a guess on some vehicle scrapping. and find out the share of taxi and autos to total cars and the should be favorable to taxi than cars

Ashok Datar (@datarashok) 's Twitter Profile Photo

with relentless increase in vehicles on road traffic jams are bound to increase unless we make serious progress on buses & parking . metro will have minor impact. let us see numbers in next year . metros wont have a big impact is the truth

happy to learn that Mumbaikars gave good rfesponse to reduction of I clas single tickets from Rs. 50 to Rs. 25 for long distances by aiancreasing ridership by 100% in I class. railways should be imaginative rationalization of fares should get people to use such class and add rev

The puzzling failure to build new Broad Gauge lines The average cost of construction of new lines in India is about one-half to one-third in other major railway like US, China, Japan, and most of Europe primarily because of the predominantly flat terrain on India's trunk ..

I am disturbed that mostly pointless slow trains masqurading as hi speed trains are hogging all publiciity whereas semi hi speed ( 200 km/hr and not 80 km/hr 0f Vande bharat ) are hogging all the limelight. It is plain diversionary

Ashok Datar (@datarashok) 's Twitter Profile Photo

when serious trials are conducted for trains at speed of 180lm/hr are going to be conducted ? why so much delay? are nt they much cheaper than bullet trains . Indian railways can really progress with this kind of speed & large network
