Our hearts are broken at the loss of three members of our community, Devin Chandler, Lavel Davis Jr., and D’Sean Perry and our two UVA students currently receiving care from our medical center. Our #UVA family truly appreciates all the support from all over the country today. 🧡

It’s a big week! My master’s work is out now in Global Change Biology! We investigated spatial & temporal trends in body size of freshwater salmonids, & found that they are not shrinking with climate warming as has been found with many marine fishes (& terrestrial species)… 1/3

Excited to share we’ve got a new paper out evaluating spillover of fungi *from* non-native mason bees *to* native mason bee species. We worked with 100 community scientists to make this study happen! #Osmia #communityscience Erin (Rin) Krichilsky, they/them Journal of Applied Ecology tinyurl.com/asco-spread

Out today in nature - rivers and streams are major contributors to global methane emissions. Emily Stanley & a team of international researchers mapped out where & why. blog.limnology.wisc.edu/2023/08/16/sci…

It’s an honor to receive the Excellent Paper Award from the Japanese Society of Limnology for my first lead-authored paper! I did this work as part of my MS on the relationships (or lack thereof) between rusty crayfish and water clarity in Wisconsin lakes link.springer.com/article/10.100…

My newest paper was published online today in Estuaries & Coasts. It is the first study to examine the transfer of marine heatwaves into vegetated sediments (~80% of sediment heatwaves co-occur with a MHW). doi.org/10.1007/s12237… Coastal & Estuarine Research Federation (CERF) Virginia Coast Reserve LTER US LTER #heatwave
