“Lo que le pasó a la fantasía, en mi opinión, es lo mismo que le pasó al rock and roll. Encontró un denominador común para ganar el máximo dinero. Como resultado, perdió su tensión, su rabia, su transgresión y se convirtió en una taza de chocolate caliente.” Michael Moorcock

U1 The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh Some consider this a classic. I don't care for it. Its too ordinary. Lacks the D&D weirdness... feels too much like Scooby Doo and a missed opportunity to be an Innsmouth... I think this where we begin to see "plot" infiltrate the modules

T1 The Village of Hommlet Greatest starting village. Great seeds throughout. It would be 6 years before we got the "sequel" I have probably run Hommlet a dozen or more times. I've never run the Temple of Elemental Evil.

I like boxed text descriptions of each room/encounter in a D&D adventure. I understand that its setting up the puzzle. I like watching the players listen intently for their clues about whats about to happen or how to safely proceed. What to search? Where's the trap?

I am aware he has been canceled but his writings are some of my favorite books. Maybe celebrate the artist that visualized his Snow, Glass, Apples... Amazing work.

By utilizing classic play methods It is easy to immerse players in their experience. There is no need for miniatures and battle maps - this is not a war game. You can even set your dice aside temporarily. The goal is to engage with a narrative that is like a living book which

In the room are 3 items: a dagger, a shield, and a red cloak. 2 doors. Behind the 1st is an Owl Bear. Behind the 2nd, 2 skeletons. You need to choose 1 of the 2 doors to escape. You're a level 1 scrub. No spells. No equipment. You know which door is which. Plan?

My generation learned the hard way to deal with disappointment. We'd rent videos with incredible Vallejo-esque box art: a vast post-apocalyptic hellscape populated with bizarrely-clad warriors and snarling mutants, everything on fire. Then we'd hit play and it was dogshit.

I love seeing pristine versions of this book, because it most matches my memories of mine as a youth. ..but this DMG has seen some SHIT and very likely delivered countless hours of enjoyment to table after table. :)
