The TDK trilogy and The Batman are the only great live action Batman movies by the way. They’re the only ones adapting specific comics and trying to say something interesting about them.

I actually don’t think Matt is mischaracterized at all in those flashbacks. Feels like an extension of his speech in S1E3. “Outside of these walls, he may very well face a judgment of his own making.”

Matt in the Netflix show is not some perfectly moral saint. He often struggles with right and wrong even within the framework of his strong Catholic beliefs. The entire first and 3rd seasons deal with this.

I mean, what makes Nelson v. Murdock so good is Foggy (correctly) is pissed at Matt because he’s a huge hypocrite. He talked Foggy and him out of a cushy job because the law is sacred and works and yet breaks the law with impunity on the side

Matt has the NERVE to chastise Karen and Foggy for not playing by the law’s rule book in trying to stop Fisk but then proceeds to go full Vigilante murder attempt to stop him
