The basic principles of constructive feedback: 1. Before you give it, ask if they want to receive it. 2. Be clear that you believe in their potential and care about their success. 3. Be as candid as possible in what you say, and as thoughtful as possible in how you say it.

Very pleased to have received a large grant by the AHRC and now heading (back?) to Italy to carry out my formal experiments. Hopefully that (and a bunch of statistical analyses) will be enough for Durham to award me a PhD… #neverends

My highlight of Epiphany term was teaching Translation on an MA and a BA module at Durham University. I gave, respectively, a lecture on #Metaphor and #IdiomTranslation (within the MA in TS), and a workshop on #InclusiveTranslation EN>IT (within the BA in Foreign Languages). 🎉
