How had I not heard of this story of the cat cult in Maury County, TN, as reported by Bob Smietana / Nashville Scene ? nashvillescene.com/news/coverstor… I actually remember their cat adoption trailer driving around Spring Hill. It was parked on our street once.

Friends going remote - if you consider working for a company in NY, subtract 5-6% from the salary they are offering. You pay state income tax to NY, even as a non-resident. Getting out of it is very hard. - things you learn after you get your first paycheck

Just upgraded to a 34” widescreen from a 24”. It feels off, maybe just need some time adjusting to it. Anyone else out there make a similar switch?

Yesterday a former coworker posted a picture of the CEO's car in its reserved space. The space always had a double-parked luxury car. In the picture he posted it was a classic Corvette, also double parked. The space it was double parked in? Handicapped Also, this:

Trying to get a sense of savings for not having a daily commute. Its imperfect, based on monthly gas $ and *average* fuel prices for those months. Outliers: 402 gallons the month we drove the 14MPG van to Canada. 400 the month we moved.

I'm trying to get back to writing about dev stuff in particular SQL. Putting finishing touches on one about a speed up on a product that launched a few years ago. left joins w/ many-man were greatly slowing it down. Changed the domain to something on my mind, kids just got a dog

I used to work for at a place w/ "core" value of "family". That company had no paternity leave. Im watching male friends and new coworkers taking 4-16 wks paid time off to be with their wife and children. I wish I had that for my kids but I rejoice that the next gen gets it

"If telling the truth is risking the business, you’ve got a truth problem, not a business problem." "This is about control and ... managing their image in the marketplace using silencing and binding their employees…. It is not about truth and it is definitely not about Jesus."

I'm not on here much anymore. Several friends have left. Those who are still here - are you going anywhere? Are you preserving your tweets for posterity, or deleting everything?
