When people show you who they are, believe them. Check this video. If your MP is someone who walked out before the statement, you should write to them and ask why. #BuildingSafetyCrisis #Grenfell #EndOurCladdingScandal

It was obvious that the morning after the report was finally published, the position of both the Metropolitan Police and the CPS would be strongly queried. That appears to have taken them by surprise

Lucy Powell MP Just sort out the #claddingscandal and #BuildingSafetyCrisis! I simply want an apartment that is remediated by the developer so I can live in a safe home. Set a deadline of Q1 2025 for all buildings to be fully remediated & fine developers who don’t comply Angela Rayner

In Australia this is true -under reporting / testing for #combustible #cladding is remains rife. Builders not being held accountable for repairs. #Strata owners ignoring occupiers liability risk. Regulators under resourced to enforce compliance.

Blair is speaking, as he increasingly does, irresponsibly & without understanding. Grenfell was not the result of 'mistakes', but fraud by manufacturers, complicity by testing bodies, dereliction of safety duty by architects & construction companies, and inaction by politicians.

It sounded exactly like a Tory answer; dodge and deflect. She’s apparently not across her brief at all as none of this should’ve been a surprise.

😵 Robert Jenrick didn't care one bit. He only ever had crocodile tears for residents and the empathy of a robot. “Worked very hard on this issue"? Worked very hard to protect his developer friends and force innocent leaseholders to pay, more like.

rj Dan Bruce Agree. Seven years in opposition since Grenfell and plenty of supportive noises. Labour should have had a plan and hit the ground running. If something is a priority, that's what you do. But their priority is housebuilding. And it shows.

Cladding Victim  Dan Bruce rj Nothing in yesterday’s inquiry report was a surprise. The inquiry happened in public, we all followed it. There could be as many as 3 million residents affected. This is not a small problem. Labour should be on the ball.

It feels like they're making it clear it won't get dealt with anytime soon. Most of the report's findings are what we all knew, and it's inexcusable after seven years, even in opposition, to not have a plan to fix such a dangerous safety crisis.

What a thread!!! In other words, it was decades of known knowns, and we still don't have a solution. If I were as bad at my job as most politicians, I'd be incredibly embarrassed, or maybe I'd get elevated to the Lords; who knows?
