I have seen the adults several times but I finally saw all the kits of our local Red Fox family. #albertamammals #alberta #redfox

I need some help identifying a pair of footprints that I came across today. Found in a small drainage channel in Horseshoe Canyon, near Drumheller, AB. I suspect they are Wolverine but I’m not really sure. #albertawildlife #footprints #albertanature

My 8 year old and I went hiking in Horseshoe Canyon today and we were beyond excited to find a pair of Rusty Blackbirds (only one stuck around for photos). #albertabirds #abbirds

It’s #WorldGISDay! Our Resource Management Assistant Allison uses GIS mapping data for tracking fossil sites across Alberta. To support educational programming at the Museum, Allison created a fossil density map that helps students visualize fossil hotspots across the province.

Two lifers this week and it’s only Wednesday! Golden Eagle on Monday and Hoary Redpoll at lunch today. I will admit, I’m still a little buzzed.

Whether it’s in my yard, a farm field or a gravel road, it seems like Common Redpolls are everywhere this winter. #albertabirds

Here’s a nice, stream-rounded equid metatarsal that just came to Royal Alberta Museum. It’s from the Peace region, and was collected as part of CRM work in Alberta. #FossilFriday #iceageAB #horses
