In a presser this morning Beshear called for funding for 5% raises for all public school employees, universal pre-K and full-day kindergarten, teacher loan forgiveness and restore pension plans for new teachers. Calls them steps to address teacher shortages.

LMPD confirms the deceased Louisville mass shooter is Connor Sturgeon and that Tommy Elliott is one of the 4 people he killed. Sturgeon was an employee of the bank and he used a rifle.

One of the 9 people injured and hospitalized was Louisville police officer Nicholas Witt, who was shot in the head and is in critical condition.

KHSAA commissioner Julian Tackett notes some states are considering allowing one "free" transfer through 9th grade. Once student becomes a sophomore, transfer/eligibility rules apply. Tackett: 500 transfers already this school year; a total of 700 all of last school year.
