Planning is essential for coaches. I always consider what drives my players and what they need to succeed and think about the wider picture across multiple sessions. Remember … when they’re having fun and enjoying it they’re mostly likely going to be good at it. #youthfootball

🔥 EVERY CHILD at your session deserves a high-five, an enthusiastic hello, and a question about their day. These small gestures may seem simple, but they play a powerful role in creating a positive, welcoming environment.

Don’t confuse your role with your value. Championship players don’t count minutes - they make their minutes count. Great players don’t chase playing time. Great players chase excellence. Because roles change but the standard never does.

Alongside ball mastery… young players NEED to be taught football specific movement. Most young players don’t move well enough off the ball. ⚽️ Not making angled runs ⚽️ Not making recovery runs ⚽️ Not sprinting into space ⚽️ Not pressing correctly Teach them movement.

It’s a beautiful thing when we can get a group of people, who all want to play. You know the playful feeling. Your training environment should be one that onlookers want to be a part of because of the contagious joy.

🇩🇪🗣️ Jürgen Klopp’s advice for coaches on how to effectively communicate with players. 👀 Liverpool fans must really miss him, he seems like such a brilliant coach.

Share this with every parent who is raising boys who play sport and with every coach who coaches boys. Good boys make Great Players. Incredibly important message - particularly now - when we need to be supporting all our boys (I've got six of them)🙂 to grow up to be good

One thing I’ve taken from youth football coaching over the six years I’ve had the privilege is that most times your training environment should be one that onlookers want to be a part of because of the contagious joy. #youthfootball #jogabonito #EasterFun

Vincent Kompany gives Doku great coaching point “Arrive at the back post to score the easy goals, you don’t always have to do 15 dribbles/something unbelievable, arrive in the right area and score easy goals, and the other things will always be there.”
