The Biomedical Science juniors are studying the ear, hearing, and are testing their own hearing in class - today was tuning forks and tomorrow they will be creating their own audiograms! 👂🏻🎧 #pltw #crhsbiomed

The senior #pltw Biomedical Science class has been working hard on redesigning 🏥🚑 emergency rooms to make them more effective (and innovative) and, I have to say, they were super creative this year! Lots of design & creativity via Sims and Minecraft. So fun! #crhsbiomed

I was so thankful to have Grace Mason, #PLTW Biomedical Science Honors 2020 alum, back to speak w/ some of my biomed students today about how much Biomed helped her in her studies! She is currently @ FSU, graduating w/ a BS in behavioral neuroscience & working in a research lab!

I’m so proud of #PLTW junior Sophia Riascos for being named district runner up (alternate to the district winner) for the Florida Sunshine State Scholar Award! Sophia is an outstanding young woman! I cannot think of a more deserving student for this honor!

🧫🥼🥽🧪Bacterial transformation day in the Junior biomedical science class today! Everyone got results! There is nothing like taking regular old bacteria, genetically modifying it with a glowing gene, and getting awesome results! Only in #pltw Biomed!

🥽🧪The Junior #pltw Biomedical Science students completed their column chromatography to separate out the glowing protein from other bacterial proteins from the bacteria they transformed & grew! Next up, protein electrophoresis! The students did fantastic! I’m so impressed!

🧫 First microbiology plaque assay completed successfully! Students in the sophomore #PLTW Biomedical Science class evaluated viral load of two antiviral treatments with edvotek’s going Un-viral lab. Everyone was pretty happy with their results! They all did an excellent job!

It was such a great night with a fantastic group of seniors! Congrats to the AHC class of 2024!

This wonderful group of students graduated last night-the CRHS #PLTW Biomedical Science Class of 2024! I’m so proud to have been their teacher through 3 years, tons of hard work, some stress, some tears, & SO many laughs. I truly am going to miss this bunch. CONGRATS to you all!
