I will never understand why schools remove play in an effort to focus on academics when we know that play is one of the very things we need in order to focus on academics.

Wow. Worth the read for every educator or parent. Preschool is not to be academics driven-children, young and old, need PLAY!

Recess and play are SEL. They help decrease aggressive and off task behavior as well as decease anxiety and depression . They increase self regulation of emotions and improve academic performance! Let them play!

You need to watch truly extraordinary teachers carefully to figure out how they do what they do, but to appreciate the quality of their teaching I recommend watching their students.

A little surprise and delight for teachers today! It was a great way to kick off the last week of school. 💙💛#stayingafloatuntilSUMMER

Challenging, and in a time when waves of sadness hit hard in expected moments! My mom loved hearing how this manuscript was unfolding especially because Regan &Alexis were creating beside me! The new manual, "Body and Brain Brilliance" is filled with spectacular images!

From mrssteaches4th_ on IG: "My classroom is so small so there isn’t a lot of space for our many anchor charts. I always want my students to have access to our anchor charts so ... I came up with these mini anchor charts! I just take a picture, cut and laminate for each student!"

Don't ask, "Will I make an impact today?" We don't get that choice. We WILL make an impact on the kids & adults we interact with. Instead ask, "What kind of impact will I make?" We can be the reason they want to come to school or the reason why they don't. That's the choice.
