The Chris “Congrats to Brisbane (but not really) and we had 10 or 12 excuses due to challenges during the season (but I’m not going to tell you what they are) and this will sound like sour grapes blah blah” Scott press conf is up, and surprisingly doesn’t disappoint! 😴 #AFLGF

Geelong’s loss ranks them in the Top 3 or 4 list of shortest-priced favourites to lose a GF in the past 40 yrs I’d say (50 yrs if betting had been available). Ouch! 🥺 You’ll struggle to find many shorter than Cats ($1.50). St Kilda #1 at $1.32 in 1997. #AFLCatsLions #AFLGF

I wonder if Punter still wants to open with Carey over Head in this run chase so that Head can come in at number 5 in his “natural” position? 🤔 #Ashes

It’s rare where you can say after a Test that 16/22 players hardly set the world on fire, but that’s the reality here. Series is well & truly alive. Aus should be wary heading to Gabba & not celebrate too hard. It’s superlatives from 2 players with a mini-cameo from Boland 🤔

Player of the match decision made just after the start of the 4th innings today by the looks of it? Similar to 1997 AFL GF when Jarman embarrassingly missed out. What a balls up! 🤣 Oh well. Proper cricket fans know which performance will be remembered 20+ years from now.

How many runs did Australia leave out there due to dumb decision to open batting with Boland, meaning Smith batted lower and was stranded not out? (anyone who thinks it was a good idea can try and explain why teams don’t do it all the time 🤔) #Ashes

Yeah, nah! A conversation has definitely taken place. Usual BS from McDonald - simply running with the Every child wins a prize/every vg player gets to “seemingly” go out on their own terms. Expect an announcement from Uzzie - “It was my call and I wasn’t given a nudge” 😉

Fun fact: Alex de Minaur is quick, but there is a Victorian who’s twice his age who’d beat him in a foot race over 800 metres 🏃 #AustralianOpen

Watching a replay, that time violation was warranted & all on de Minaur - zero to do with Alcaraz. Alex was fumbling with towel with 14 secs to go and the ump was all over it. Often viewed as “over” umpiring when first called in a match but a great call. Watch the match flow now.

Reading a lot about “Djokovic got lucky” on here. As tennis fans, do we simply assume that ALL players on the hundreds of occasions who’ve come back to win from 2 sets to love down would’ve been 100%“lucky” had their opponent’s body failed to hold up and retired at 2-0??

Wow! What a warrior. NO-ONE saw that coming. Why are we surprised! Novak becomes the story of the day 💪 What a 20 years it’s been barracking for him. Unbelievable 😄

As a Novak fan, only slightly nervous. Similar to when Fed fans passed Sampras’s 14 & Rafa fans when he passed Fed’s 20, since Novak won 23 & claimed the outright record, everything since then is simply icing on the cake 😄 Alcaraz 16 yrs his junior & is $1.30 fave for a reason

Super proud. Wonderful speech by Novak. His legacy has grown this tournament. Roll on LA 2028 but before that, on to Paris where he will break yet another record of Federer’s. 💪
