This one suggests that visceral adipose tissue is not only associated with coronary artery calcium (CAC) progression, but that it is also a mediator of the risk conferred by subcutaneous adipose tissue dysfunction and insulin resistance.

Some general advice for those starting ortho rotations for #Match2024: 1. Control what you can control during your day-to-day. Don’t worry about what others are doing. 2. Stay humble, please. 3. Capitalize on learning opportunities. 4. Be a human. #Medtwitter #orthotwitter

Living longer/better doesn’t require a complicated routine. -don’t smoke - don’t drink more than 5/week - move - move more - keep moving - push and pull heavy things - sleep - have friends - find something that motivates you to get out of bed in the morning. - eat food

Medical school is not the time to stop exercising in hopes that 100% of your time can be spent studying. Plan appropriately to allow time to maintain your physical and mental health. Your future self (and patients) will thank you! #MedTwitter #MedStudentTwitter

Alton Daley Not only is it good for mental health but if you are going into a surgical specialty, it’ll help you get through those long days in the OR and potentially avoid injury in the long term

Logged my final workout the home gym today as we prepare to move. Throughout med school, I’ve logged over 1,000 workouts in this tiny space. It’s been pivotal to my mental and physical health and I plan to continue to commit to training during my #ortho residency. #keepmoving

Two months into intern year of Ortho residency, here’s a few lessons learned: 1. Residency is hard. 2. You will make mistakes, learn from them. 3. It’s okay to not be perfect. 4. Take every opportunity you can to learn (in the OR, on the floor, etc) #orthotwitter

I know many of you DO medical students applying ortho are sweating bullets in anticipation of Monday. A few things I wanted to point out in advance are: 1. In my experience, getting the same number of interviews as away rotations you performed is above average.
