We went to a big box store and saw you people are paying $8-$12 for single plants that look half dead. You are planting a garden to feed healthy food to your family. Who do you trust to get great starts, corporate chains or your local farmer? $2 a plant, 8 for $15 and 12 for $22

Juxtaposed at garden centres: 1) wild bird food to replace insects/plants killed by sprays and powders on sale 2) rodenticides to kill the mammals the bird food attracts 3) bird repellent if the wrong birds show up & 4) fake birds when your garden can no longer support real ones.

I find it comforting to witness a creature exist here on Earth without being concerned with the petty squabbles of mankind.

My daughter has now drawn the deer who eat our tomato plants. So…how’s your week going…
