I've also got my own custom assert macro that people are free to use and adapt at github.com/DominikGrabiec… I spent a bunch of time figuring out the optional message handling.

My wife playing Cyberpunk, sees combat ahead between a blue labelled character and a few yellows, proceeds to cross the street and avoid it altogether. "Not my circus not my monkeys".

Was watching a video and they mentioned "side-loading". FFS it's not "side" loading, it's just installing. A normal and natural way of installing programs and applications since the dawn of the PC. Using a vendor specific store is the unusual way to install things.

After visiting Normandy recently and loving the cider and perry made there, any other cider that I've tried since then feels nothing more than weak apple juice with a bit of alcohol in it.

Looking at various job ads and seeing "modern C++" with "including templates and object oriented patterns" does not instill me with confidence that it's anything past C++14.

I've always likened LLMs to that one relative who has an opinion on everything and expresses it confidently as if it were fact. So when people claim they're exploring the frontiers of science with LLMs I picture them having beers/weed on a porch at 3am talking shit incoherently.

So after quite some time and travelling I've gotten back to writing some articles about things I've been working on. This one is about a neat little technique with enum classes, which I will use in a future article. dominikgrabiec.com/posts/2025/08/…

Since Google has revealed the new phones I looked into disabling all AI features. Found this article with the headline "I turned off all AI features on my Pixel phone — and instantly regretted it" and in reading through each regret it instead sounded like a blessing to me.

So there's going to be a new version of Visual Studio coming out and if there's no way to completely disable the AI features I'm going to be forced to switch to Sublime Text + some debugger. devblogs.microsoft.com/visualstudio/v…

I noticed that the first of my talks from ACCU2025 has been released to YouTube. It's a short one about mistakes I've seen made with data in game development. youtube.com/watch?v=x_5PIx…

Just saw that my long talk from ACCU this year is now live on YouTube. I think I did a better job with this version of the presentation than the one at CppCon. youtu.be/KNAyUjeNewc?si…

Lots of hardware channels on YouTube still using Cyberpunk for benchmarking and comparing hardware. Not gonna lie it feels kinda good to have made* this generation's Crysis. * part of a team of hundreds of skilled and creative people!

I posted a small article relating to many peoples' favourite topic: dominikgrabiec.com/posts/2026/02/… I've had this written for many months but never felt comfortable enough to post it. Don't know if this means it is a good piece of writing or not.

I'm genuinely curious about what local NPU processing can accomplish and what it is being used for. Does a 40 TOPS NPU have current use cases more than just playing around? Or is it a waste of silicon because anything useful requires a data centre rack worth of compute.

Was there any legal decision made as to if source code licences like the GPL would taint the data set that a LLM would be trained on and therefore taint the generated output of said LLM?

After 3 years, 47 releases, Ark VCS has finally reached 1.0! 🎉 youtu.be/XSnIw4siQ6U It's a big release, with features that I've never seen to any version control system out of the box, like built-in changelist build status. If you're tired of #perforce and #git, get it from
